Group


 For this project, I decided to pair up with three of my friends, Nicole M., Violet P., and Dara S. Before we paired up, our teachers announced to make sure we group with people we know will be good partners when it comes to getting work done, not solely because those people are our friends. Even with that said, we still knew it was right to pair up with each other. Of course, being friends with one another is an added bonus, but we also are genuinely good group partners. For instance, our relationships with each other allow us to communicate exactly what we need to say without there being any awkwardness or tension. Personally, I find this to be a problem with others that I don't have a close relationship with. This not being a problem for us allows us to communicate all the ideas that we have, making our project the best that it can be. Additionally, we have all have specific strong suits that can be used to make sure each element of the project is the best it can be. For example, Nicole M. and Violet P. are both great at filming. They are extremely good at figuring out which angles are best and look the cleanest and most aesthetic. They both also love acting. Nicole is a competitive dancer, so she knows all about how to both put on a performance and play a certain character on stage in front of others. Violet also has experience with playing a certain role on stage in front of others. She used to be in theater and would perform in many different plays, so she has a lot of experience with acting. They both can focus on the parts of the project that include filming and acting, so they can take turns shooting the clips and playing characters in them as well. Dara S. is our designated drawer. She has amazing art skills and can do a phenomenal job at drawing out the clips we plan to film before we actually do so. Finally, we decided that I would be the team editor. As I mentioned before, I already have experience with editing videos from when I made imitation YouTube videos. I truly believe that we will excel as a group and have little to no problems getting this project done. Also, with all of our skills combined, I think our project will go above and beyond expectations.

Plans Gone Wrong

My group and I were supposed to start filming at minimum one day this weekend. My team and I had planned to get started on our film and finish at least a couple of the first clips. If not, it would at least provide a feel for how filming is going to go. Unfortunately, this was not able to be successfully done. It soon came up that my peers and I had previous commitments that weekend, which were not able to be postponed. For example, my mom told me when I got home that we would be visiting my friend out of state that weekend. I would be gone from that Friday night to the next Sunday morning. This left me no time to film since it would be too complicated to film on a school night. This is because I live so far away from everyone else in my group. Storyboard for Time for Dinner

Scene 1: The first five seconds will show clouds going down with "...Presents" and "...Production Company."  Scene 2: The next scene is a tracking shot of a very vibrant neighborhood with the actors' names.  Scene 3: The camera gets closer to a house and shows the film's name. Scene 4: The camera goes into the house slowly. Scene 5: The camera continues throughout the house that looks very put together. Scene 6: The kitchen is a little messy-looking and says "The Music by..." Scene 7: Two girls are shown talking muted as the "Directed by.." is displayed. They are stiff.   Scene 8: Sara grabs a chair and sits as she says her first line stiffly. Scene 9: This is a close-up shot of Lynn and she says her first line very smiley. The Editing has Officially Begun

We finally finished filming all of the clips necessary for our film. The last couple of things we had to do included getting Nicole to record a couple more missing scenes at home with her tripod. After this was done, we were finally completely done with filming for this project. We were able to start on the editing immediately. One of the first things I did was record myself screaming. This was so I could add it in as a voice-over over one of the scenes. Before I could do this though, I had to make sure of some things. I made sure that I did it around the middle of the day when most people were awake. This is because I live in an apartment complex, so I didn't want to upset my neighbors. I also didn't want to upset my own family by yelling too early or late in the day. I also told my family to not be alarmed by my scream because I had to record it for a project and I told them to stay quiet during it so their voices wouldn't be heard in the background.
