Reflecting Back on this Eventful Project

 Below is my CCR.

Can We Be Friends? Watch the Music Video to Find Out

This project has been a crazy ride full of twists and turns. It ranged from teaching me more about filmmaking to causing fights and ending friendships. It has taught me a lot more about filming and editing compared to our last project. I've learned about transitions, filters, and more camera angles. The creativity element that was necessary for this project is why I feel it helped me learn about so many things. It forced us to try out different new techniques so we could bring the dreams we had to life. However, it has also brought out stress and anger in my group. It has caused arguments and many disagreements between us. Still, I feel as though even that part was a learning experience. All in all, I have left this project knowing more than when I went into it.

Finally Finishing Editing

Today was the day the video was done, finally. It was a long day full of hard work but it all paid off. In fact, the past couple of days have been hard work but I’m proud of the outcome. The video actually turned out better than I had expected. Of course, this was with the help of my group. The first thing to be done was the music. It still wasn’t cooperating for quite a while at first. However, with determination and persistence, it ended up matching exactly with the video. We were able to figure out when and how to cut the music by counting seconds exactly instead of trying to eyeball it. This is the method that helped us adjust the music the right way at last. After the music was done and the video clips were all put together the right way, there were some finishing touches to be added. One of these included putting a filter on the scenes that were a “memory” to the character. This was so whoever is watching the music video can more easily understand that the clips are meant to be

Editing Gone Wrong

Today was our second day of editing. After everything that has happened today, I think it's safe to say it didn't go well. We were able to finish putting together all the scenes into one video. Once this was done, it was quickly realized that some of the scenes weren't the correct length. This was, however, able to be fixed. This was done by cutting down many scenes to the exact second. It took a long time to match and arrange everything up perfectly and was harder than expected. We were able to eventually make them all the exact correct length. Luckily, our video ended up being 1 minute and 11 seconds long. The timing was basically perfect so we were happy and excited to continue on. However, our happiness was quickly ruined after this. We had to cut down the music, since the original song was too long to fit the rules we were given of a 1:10-1:15 minute long video. This wasn't a problem at first and we even planned ahead concerning how we could fix it. We thought we

Finally Beginning to Edit...Or Trying To

Image
Today I began editing the music video. I got sent the separate clips by another group member. It took quite a while to get these clips, a whole day after I sent a message about it, but I ended up getting them nonetheless. Another one of my group members, Nicole, sent me a message today concerning the editing of the video. She recommended we both edit the video together. This would be harming the plan we had originally all had set where I would be the editor. However, her reasoning was understandable. She couldn't  physically make it when we were filming either. Since she barely assisted with the filming process, it is only fair she plays her part in the editing process. Therefore, now I will have to work with her in editing the music video rather than doing it all by myself. While I do find it a little better to be able to edit all by myself, I suppose Nicole's assistance will make the process easier. It may even make the outcome better, as two heads are better than one. Filming with COVID

Image
Today was the day we finished filming. It was quite hard to find a time we could all use for filming, and it took weeks to find the right day. Still, we managed to all come together and clear away our schedules for today. All we had left to record were the clips of the boy and girl hanging out together and the one where the boy knocks at the girl's door. Unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19 about a week before this. Therefore, I wasn't able to physically come to the filming session. Luckily, I was able to join virtually through a facetime call. This way, I could still see and be a part of everything that was going on while not posing a health risk. Other than this, the rest of the filming went pretty well in my opinion. We ran into a few little bumps on the road while recording, but nothing too serious. For example, Cole, our male character stepped in dog poop on the sidewalk while we were shooting. Also, some scenes took multiple retakes because it was hard for our
