Group Blog

Personally, it has been a hassle to figure out which group I was going to be in for this project. Since learning about this final project, I've had this idea in my mind about who I was going to be partnered with. My three other friends and I, with whom I've done all my other projects for this class, were all going to stay a group for this project as well. Unfortunately, some drama arose between our group and while I won't get into specifics, I will say that two of them are not friends with the other anymore. Even though I wasn't directly involved in the fight they had, I was directly affected by it. Two of my peers decided to branch off on their own and leave the group for another one. However, my remaining peer seemed to have the same idea. She also decided it would be best to leave the group and join another one. While this may have seemed like a wise and responsible choice, it ended up leaving me with nobody. I now had to go and try to find another group that was willing to accept me. This may seem easy to some, but it was surprisingly difficult since many already had a group of four people, with no room for one more. Luckily, I was able to talk to a friend and ask if I could join her group, to which she said yes. This arrangement was made back in December, just about a month ago. The other day, when I double-checked with her, to make sure I was still in her group, she informed me that she had forgotten about our agreement. Her group now had four total members, so I couldn't be part of it anymore. While a part of me was hurt about the situation, I knew I didn't have time to be sad and had to find yet another group as soon as possible. After asking around, I was in fact able to find a group of only three, so I could join them. This actually ended up working out great because I'm content with my current group members, which include Nicole Miller, Maria Koehl, and Hannah Reyes, and am excited to work with them. I really feel like our abilities combined could create something great. This process has also taught me valuable skills, such as forgiveness and how to think/work quickly when things don't go the way they were expected to.
