Canceled Plans



Yesterday we had planned to have a second filming day. We expected this to be the end of filming or at least bring us close to finishing. Unfortunately, that was not the outcome at all. That morning, Hannah texted the group chat something that no one saw coming. She told us that she was super sick and wouldn't be able to make it to filming that day. Even though she wasn't able to make it, we thought Nicole, Maria, and I should still go to Nicole's house to film that day. We planned to film as many scenes as possible that didn't involve Hannah/Hannah's character. Therefore, we went about our days as usual expecting to go to Nicole's house at around 4:30 and do what we can. I went to dance practice at 2:30, thinking I was going to be done by 3:30 and make it to Nicole's at 4:30. However, at 3:30 my instructor said that we still have much more to improve on, especially since we have a performance coming up soon. She said we should stay an additional 2 hours in order to practice everything. If I stayed that long, I would be super late to Nicole's and there wouldn't be any point in going at all. I texted the group chat that I wouldn't be able to make it to filming that day either. This just left Nicole and Maria to film, which greatly reduced the amount of scenes that they could get done. After this happened, Maria also ended up texting the group chat some bad news. She said that her soccer game was most likely not going to end on time. It started raining when their game was supposed to start, so the whole game got delayed for about an hour. It wouldn't have been worth it for her to go to Nicole's house that late either, so she canceled as well. With only Nicole left, we couldn't film any of the scenes, so we decided to completely cancel. What we did instead when we got home was group facetime. On the call, we discussed a new filming day and reviewed the script and storyboard and fixed some issues that we found. I actually believe that the cancelation was a goo thing, because we ended up clearing a lot of things up and fixing some things. Now we are more ready than ever to film on our next filming day.

Plans Gone Wrong

My group and I were supposed to start filming at minimum one day this weekend. My team and I had planned to get started on our film and finish at least a couple of the first clips. If not, it would at least provide a feel for how filming is going to go. Unfortunately, this was not able to be successfully done. It soon came up that my peers and I had previous commitments that weekend, which were not able to be postponed. For example, my mom told me when I got home that we would be visiting my friend out of state that weekend. I would be gone from that Friday night to the next Sunday morning. This left me no time to film since it would be too complicated to film on a school night. This is because I live so far away from everyone else in my group. Storyboard for Time for Dinner

Scene 1: The first five seconds will show clouds going down with "...Presents" and "...Production Company."  Scene 2: The next scene is a tracking shot of a very vibrant neighborhood with the actors' names.  Scene 3: The camera gets closer to a house and shows the film's name. Scene 4: The camera goes into the house slowly. Scene 5: The camera continues throughout the house that looks very put together. Scene 6: The kitchen is a little messy-looking and says "The Music by..." Scene 7: Two girls are shown talking muted as the "Directed by.." is displayed. They are stiff.   Scene 8: Sara grabs a chair and sits as she says her first line stiffly. Scene 9: This is a close-up shot of Lynn and she says her first line very smiley. The Editing has Officially Begun

We finally finished filming all of the clips necessary for our film. The last couple of things we had to do included getting Nicole to record a couple more missing scenes at home with her tripod. After this was done, we were finally completely done with filming for this project. We were able to start on the editing immediately. One of the first things I did was record myself screaming. This was so I could add it in as a voice-over over one of the scenes. Before I could do this though, I had to make sure of some things. I made sure that I did it around the middle of the day when most people were awake. This is because I live in an apartment complex, so I didn't want to upset my neighbors. I also didn't want to upset my own family by yelling too early or late in the day. I also told my family to not be alarmed by my scream because I had to record it for a project and I told them to stay quiet during it so their voices wouldn't be heard in the background.
