Filming with Everyone Included
We were finally able to shoot our short film with everyone present. Nicole, Maria, Hannah, and I were finally all free the same day so we took advantage of it. We all got to Nicole's house at around 6pm in order to make sure it didn't look like it was daytime in our scenes. Once we got there we immediately began getting everything ready for filming. We started setting things up and getting costumes and makeup ready. Since Nicole is a competition dancer, she had a lot of makeup, so we were able to use some in order to make Hannah and Brianna look scary. While Nicole was doing their makeup in her room, Maria and I decided to be proactive and film some of our scenes where it's just the two of us. We set up a tripod and started filming two scenes. We realized that if we said what we had in our script originally, it wouldn't fit in the 5-second time frame we had for each scene. Therefore, we decided to tweak some things and slightly change the wording. Once we were done with this, we were all ready to begin shooting the rest of the scenes. One of the scenes that I recall taking a pretty long time to film was the one where Maria, Nicole, and I were getting out of the car. We kept running into small issues like having to make sure Nicole's dog wasn't in the scenes because he kept watching us from the window. We also had issues with hearing Hannah's filming cue from inside the car, but we ended up making it all work out. In fact, now it's one of my favorite scenes of the film. After we were filming for a couple hours, we decided to take a short resting break. Nicole's mom ordered chipotle bowls for all of us and we sat down to eat while discussing filming. After we were done eating, it was already beginning to get late so we had to hurry up and finish filming before our parents started coming to pick us up. Once we were done filming and our parents picked us all up, we shared all of the clips we had from our phones onto one big album so it would be easily accessible. Now we are all done filming and onto editing.
