First Filming Day
Today was the first day my group and I got together to start recording for our film. It was difficult to find a day that suit everyone at first since everyone has such a busy schedule. However, through Nicole and I's dance practices, Maria's soccer practices, and Hannah's martial arts practices, we managed to all come together this past weekend and start filming at least some of our final project. Hannah and I decided to meet at around three at Nicole's house. I woke up pretty early that day, at 8:30 am because I knew I had to be prepared to be on camera. Before I went to Nicole's house I made sure to wash my hair, do my makeup, and pick out a good outfit that would be comfortable for filming and of course appropriate for our film. I also gathered some snacks and drinks to bring so that we could all be fueled and more productive. Maria could only come at six that same day, but we still managed to get some things done before she came. For example, we figured out where exactly in Nicole's house we were going to film, like which rooms we were going to use. We then helped clean these parts of the house and set it up how we needed it for the film. We also figured out the lighting, like which scenes we would use bright overhead lighting for and which ones we would simply use a small lamp for to create a dimmer atmosphere. We took this time to set up the phone that we would record with, in different areas around the room in order to find out which angle looked best and captured most of what we needed in that specific shot. In addition to this, before Maria arrived, we took the time to record some scenes that she wasn't a part of anyways. For instance, we recorded the scenes of the street where the main character was looking out into the distance. We also recorded the close-up of the friend's shoes on the floor and the extreme close-up of the pen and clips on the table. By this time, Maria had arrived and the first thing she did was go and shower because she had just come back from a soccer game and was sweaty. After she was done with that, she helped us film some more of the scenes. We filmed the close-up of the two friend's hands and at this point, it was starting to get dark outside anyway so we called it a day. We packed everything up and moved everything back to how it was before we started filming, which only took fifteen minutes or so. Then, we were all on our way back home to get ready for our next filming date.
