The end of editing
I'm so excited to say that day is finally here. The film is finished and I am very proud, to say the least. In order to get to this point, though, I had to finish up some quick editing. One of the things I noticed had to be fixed was a reflection in the window. There was a shot where Hannah was filming Nicole, and Hannah's reflection was visible in the window. At first, I struggled to figure out how I was going to do this. The first thing I thought to do was to download an editing app where I could mix scenes. I would then mix in a short video of a black screen and minimize it so it only covered the window. At first, it took me a couple tries of different apps to find out which one would be able to do what I needed. I finally found one that was free and allowed me to mix scenes. I tried to get a full black screen but it never turned out pitch black, so I tried looking up a video of a black screen through the app and using that. There ended up being no regular videos of just a black screen, so I just gave up on that idea completely and tried to do something new. I searched for a new app, that would let me erase things from videos. After downloading many apps, I found the right one at last. It technically was an app that was meant to remove watermarks from videos, but I figured it could still do what I needed. The way it worked was it just blurred out the portion of the video that you would manually select. I thought this was going to work out perfectly, but that was not the case. The finished product looked messy and unnatural. It seemed clearly edited, especially because in the part of the video where Nicole passes by the window, part of her gets blurred out too. Then, Nicole suggested an idea on how to fix this, she said to split the video into two parts and blur out only the parts where she's not passing the window. As for the section where she's passing by the window, you wouldn't be able to see Hannah anyways, since Nicole would be covering the window. This is what I decided to do. I also ended up figuring out how to edit in a black screen over the window, since that ended up looking more natural than the blur. Next, the titles were added in and their transitions were all completed. After this was done, the video was done, finally!
