Final Editing Touches


Today, 10/13/2021 my group and I were able to make our final touches on the commercial when it came to editing. As for the song to put in the background of the commercial, my group and I were actually to solve the problem. What ended up happening was my group member and I were able to convince the other two group members to use another song. The song that ended up getting used is called "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Ramones. My group member and I were able to convince our other two group members by playing it for them and explaining how we thought it was more upbeat and fitting for our commercial. I like this choice of music because I feel like it belongs in a commercial more compared to the other song. Also, this song doesn't use any inappropriate language like the other song. For example, the previous song said "tequila" which I feel shouldn't be used for a school project. After this final problem was over, the commercial was done. I checked over the rubric again to make sure we didn't miss anything and this time we actually didn't. Then, I sent the video to some friends to ask them for their opinions on it. All of them said that it was a great video and they liked it. I also showed the video to my family to see what they thought of it. Again, they also thought it was a good commercial. I asked both my family and friends if they thought it looked professional enough to be an actual commercial. I got the same answer from everyone, that it did look professional enough. That's when I knew my commercial was definitely done. I sent the video out to my teammates one more time to make sure they approved. As expected, all three of them did approve of it. Now, the project is completely ready to be submitted on Friday.

Plans Gone Wrong

My group and I were supposed to start filming at minimum one day this weekend. My team and I had planned to get started on our film and finish at least a couple of the first clips. If not, it would at least provide a feel for how filming is going to go. Unfortunately, this was not able to be successfully done. It soon came up that my peers and I had previous commitments that weekend, which were not able to be postponed. For example, my mom told me when I got home that we would be visiting my friend out of state that weekend. I would be gone from that Friday night to the next Sunday morning. This left me no time to film since it would be too complicated to film on a school night. This is because I live so far away from everyone else in my group. Storyboard for Time for Dinner

Scene 1: The first five seconds will show clouds going down with "...Presents" and "...Production Company."  Scene 2: The next scene is a tracking shot of a very vibrant neighborhood with the actors' names.  Scene 3: The camera gets closer to a house and shows the film's name. Scene 4: The camera goes into the house slowly. Scene 5: The camera continues throughout the house that looks very put together. Scene 6: The kitchen is a little messy-looking and says "The Music by..." Scene 7: Two girls are shown talking muted as the "Directed by.." is displayed. They are stiff.   Scene 8: Sara grabs a chair and sits as she says her first line stiffly. Scene 9: This is a close-up shot of Lynn and she says her first line very smiley. The Editing has Officially Begun

We finally finished filming all of the clips necessary for our film. The last couple of things we had to do included getting Nicole to record a couple more missing scenes at home with her tripod. After this was done, we were finally completely done with filming for this project. We were able to start on the editing immediately. One of the first things I did was record myself screaming. This was so I could add it in as a voice-over over one of the scenes. Before I could do this though, I had to make sure of some things. I made sure that I did it around the middle of the day when most people were awake. This is because I live in an apartment complex, so I didn't want to upset my neighbors. I also didn't want to upset my own family by yelling too early or late in the day. I also told my family to not be alarmed by my scream because I had to record it for a project and I told them to stay quiet during it so their voices wouldn't be heard in the background.
