Editing Gone Wrong

Today was our second day of editing. After everything that has happened today, I think it's safe to say it didn't go well. We were able to finish putting together all the scenes into one video. Once this was done, it was quickly realized that some of the scenes weren't the correct length. This was, however, able to be fixed. This was done by cutting down many scenes to the exact second. It took a long time to match and arrange everything up perfectly and was harder than expected. We were able to eventually make them all the exact correct length. Luckily, our video ended up being 1 minute and 11 seconds long. The timing was basically perfect so we were happy and excited to continue on. However, our happiness was quickly ruined after this. We had to cut down the music, since the original song was too long to fit the rules we were given of a 1:10-1:15 minute long video. This wasn't a problem at first and we even planned ahead concerning how we could fix it. We thought we could just easily snip out some parts of the song and make it come down to how long our video was, 1 minute and 11 seconds. However, this wasn't the case. Several attempts were made, but we simply could not cut down the song to where it needed to be cut, time after time. It always ended up being cut too short or cut too long. While this may not be considered a major problem for some people, it was for us because there are many parts of the music video that are either carefully made to match the lyrics exactly, or the characters are literally mouthing the lyrics. Due to this, we can't afford to have the song not match up to the music video or to be even a second off. After carefully working on the sound cutting, we managed to get the first half of the video to match the sound. Now, all that's left is the second half.
