INT. KITCHEN - DAY


This is the home of SARA. The two girls are talking casually, LYNN is sitting at the kitchen table, SARA is standing beside her.


SARA

I seriously can’t believe we don’t hang out more often. Every time we’re together we have the most fun!


LYNN

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe this time we could even stay up super late, like until 12 o’clock at night!


SARA

Yes yes, we should! By the way, are you hungry? I’m so hungry.


LYNN

Oh, yeah, I am. What should we eat?


SARA

Oh! I have some leftover cake in the fridge! A chocolate cake.


LYNN gasps.

LYNN

Oh my gosh yes!


SARA

Ok, I’ll go get it for us.


SARA walks to the fridge and removes a cake from inside. She places it on the counter and begins slicing two slices.


SARA

Do you want a drink with your slice?


LYNN

Sure! Can I have a lemonade, please?


SARA

Of course!


SARA opens the cabinet and pulls out a comically large cup. She then secretly removes a mysterious vial from her pocket and pours its contents into the drink. She walks over to LYNN and gives her the tainted lemonade and cake.


SARA

Here you go! 


LYNN

Thank you! 


LYNN picks up a huge fork and takes a bite of the cake. Right before she takes a sip of the lemonade she pauses.


LYNN (CONT’D)

Wait… does this have pulp? I don’t like pulp in my lemonade, sorry.


SARA is visibly irritated 


SARA

Well, it does, but it’s still really good. Just try it! Just one sip.


LYNN puts the cup down


LYNN

No, it’s ok. I’m not super thirsty anymore anyways.


SARA

Oh. Ok, well. That’s fine. Let’s go do something fun! 


LYNN

Sure! Like what? 


SARA

I don’t know… maybe… Oh! Let’s watch a scary movie. 


LYNN and SARA exchange mischievous looks



LYNN

We should totally watch something… PG-13!


SARA

Or even better, Rated R!



INT. TV ROOM - DAY


LYNN and SARA are both sitting on the couch. LYNN is holding the TV remote.


LYNN

So, SARA, what should we watch?


SARA

(Slyly)

Let’s watch one with lots of… murder and gore!


LYNN

(Obliviously)

Uhhh Ok!


LYNN raises the remote and selects a movie. 


SARA

I’ll be right back. I’m going to go… get some snacks for us!


LYNN

Oh! Bring popcorn!


SARA

Of course!


Sara gets up and walks to the kitchen. The camera follows her. She prepares a bowl of popcorn.


Camera cuts to LYNN watching the movie.


Camera cuts back to SARA, who, on her way out of the kitchen and back into the TV room, grabs a rope. 


SARA approaches LYNN from behind the couch, hiding the rope behind her back. She taps LYNN on the shoulder.

LYNN

Oh my gosh, you scared me! This movie must really be getting to me.


SARA laughs and hands popcorn to LYNN. LYNN turns back to face the movie.


SARA

Don’t worry, it’s just a movie. There’s nothing to worry about. 


SARA, still standing behind LYNN, raises the rope, preparing to strangle LYNN. Just as she is about to strike, LYNN turns back around. 


LYNN

You know, this popcorn is really salty. Maybe you could get me a glass of water? 


SARA

(Clearly irritated)

Um, yeah sure. 


SARA hastily leaves and returns with a glass of water, which she hands to LYNN.


LYNN

Woah, that was fast. Thank you!


SARA

Yeah, well, I just really want to watch this movie with you!


LYNN faces the TV again, and SARA prepares to strangle her again. LYNN turns around once more. 


LYNN

Woah, I drank that so fast. I really have to pee! I’ll be right back.


LYNN gets up and exits. SARA, plans foiled, sits down on the couch and lets out an exasperated sigh. 


INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT


LYNN and SARA are preparing to go to bed. LYNN is getting under her covers while SARA is doing other things.


LYNN yawns.


LYNN

Wow, we actually did it. We stayed up until midnight! I am so tired now.


SARA 

Yeah, me too. We had a fun day though! Well, goodnight.


LYNN

You’re not getting in bed yet?


SARA

Oh, no, I just have to get something really quick. But don’t wait up on me, you look very tired. 


LYNN

Alright. Goodnight!


SARA turns out the light. The lighting is now dim but not pitch black so audience can still see. SARA opens a drawer and removes a knife. 


SARA walks over to the bed where LYNN is sleeping. She raises the knife.


SARA

Finally!


Just as SARA is lowering the knife, effectively killing LYNN, an exterior voice is heard.


EXTERIOR VOICE

Honey! It’s time for dinner!

CUT TO:


A young GIRL is shown with two dolls. One is laying on the floor, the other is in her hands with an object that looks like a knife. 


GIRL

Coming, mom!


The GIRL drops the doll on the floor next to the other one. She stands and exits.


The camera cuts to an aerial view of both dolls laying askew on the floor.


[NON-DIEGETIC MUSIC PLAYS]


The camera slowly raises higher and higher above the dolls showing more and more of the surrounding room. 


BLACK.


THE END.

Plans Gone Wrong

My group and I were supposed to start filming at minimum one day this weekend. My team and I had planned to get started on our film and finish at least a couple of the first clips. If not, it would at least provide a feel for how filming is going to go. Unfortunately, this was not able to be successfully done. It soon came up that my peers and I had previous commitments that weekend, which were not able to be postponed. For example, my mom told me when I got home that we would be visiting my friend out of state that weekend. I would be gone from that Friday night to the next Sunday morning. This left me no time to film since it would be too complicated to film on a school night. This is because I live so far away from everyone else in my group. Storyboard for Time for Dinner

Scene 1: The first five seconds will show clouds going down with "...Presents" and "...Production Company."  Scene 2: The next scene is a tracking shot of a very vibrant neighborhood with the actors' names.  Scene 3: The camera gets closer to a house and shows the film's name. Scene 4: The camera goes into the house slowly. Scene 5: The camera continues throughout the house that looks very put together. Scene 6: The kitchen is a little messy-looking and says "The Music by..." Scene 7: Two girls are shown talking muted as the "Directed by.." is displayed. They are stiff.   Scene 8: Sara grabs a chair and sits as she says her first line stiffly. Scene 9: This is a close-up shot of Lynn and she says her first line very smiley. The Editing has Officially Begun

We finally finished filming all of the clips necessary for our film. The last couple of things we had to do included getting Nicole to record a couple more missing scenes at home with her tripod. After this was done, we were finally completely done with filming for this project. We were able to start on the editing immediately. One of the first things I did was record myself screaming. This was so I could add it in as a voice-over over one of the scenes. Before I could do this though, I had to make sure of some things. I made sure that I did it around the middle of the day when most people were awake. This is because I live in an apartment complex, so I didn't want to upset my neighbors. I also didn't want to upset my own family by yelling too early or late in the day. I also told my family to not be alarmed by my scream because I had to record it for a project and I told them to stay quiet during it so their voices wouldn't be heard in the background.
